A reduced awn expression, spring trticale of standard height intended for use as a feed grain and forage. It performs well under stressed conditions and produces outstanding yields in both grain and silage. Good resistance towards leaf and stem rust, bunt, as well as lodging.
This awned, spring forage triticale variety is a valuable addition across almost any application. As the name implies, Alto is a very tall, erect growing cereal, with dark green leaves and a dense canopy. Potential uses include hay, grazing, silage, green chop, and as a nurse crop. Performs phenomenally on its own or as part of a mix. Excellent feed source due to an 85% digestibility, crude protein of 22%, and NDF up to 70%.
