UC 113 is a variety of spring oat selected at the University of California, Davis. Designed with a shorter height and enhanced straw strength, this oat retains excellent lodging resistance and is well suited for highly productive environments. UC 113 can be utilized for either grain or forage production, with fantastic yield in either case. Compared with Montezuma, UC 113 has higher crude protein levels and lower acid/neutral detergent fiber. It is also resistant to shatter and stem rust: another couple of qualities that make up this stellar variety.
